Moors Valley Country Park & Forest
Moors Valley Country Park covers 750 acres in the Valley
of the Moors River. At the heart of the park is the Visitor Centre,
an 18th Century timber barn, which houses Seasons Restaurant,
The Country shop and exhibition area. A few minutes walk from
the visitor centre is the Adventure Play Area for older children
and a special Castle and Sand area for toddlers. There are picnic
areas to the picturesque Moors Lake alongside which runs the narrow
guage steam railway that will take you on a mile long journey
through the park. Heading out into the forest there is the Play
Trail with its 8 wooden play structures. There is also the opportunity
to walk on the Tree Top Trail – a 200 metre wooden walkway
through the tops of the trees. For the more adventurous there
is the Go Ape high wire adventure course. Throughout there are
miles of footpaths to enjoy including waymarked walks and cycle
trails – cycle hire is available.
